13th Gaudeamus International Book and Education Fair, Romania
About the exhibition
Last year the most important segments of the editorial and educational markets were represented: National and International educational institutions, Romanian and foreign book distribution agencies, representitives from foreign publishing houses and professional associations such as the British Council and European Commission.
The programme of the fair included 415 events, compared to 390 the year before: debates around tables, seminars on issues directly connected to the books and education markets where some of the scenes offered at presentations and demos at the exhibition.
The writer George Astalos was the Honorary President of the exhibition.
About Romania
Romania is an emerging market and will be joining the European Union in 2007. Located in Eastern Europe, it includes 1,380 high schools and 742 universities and is the biggest country in the balkans.

- 27% - graduates from high school
- 50% - graduates from university
- 16% - post-graduates
37% of visitors entering the internation platform were aged 18-29 years old, representing the most important age category among the visitors of the fair.
