About The Education Fair

Student recruitment in Russia at the 14th International Education Fair, Russia 2008

The International Education Fair in Moscow has taken place over the last ten years. In 2004 the exhibition for the first time took place in the North Capital of Russia and today it is one of the biggest exhibitions of international education in the North-Western region of the country. In February 2008 International Education Fair started successfully in Yekaterinburg and now it will be an annual event devoted to international education in the Urals mountains region.

The two International Education Fairs provided in Russia by Studycentral each have their own theme. In October the special focus is usually on Destination Europe while in February – on study in Canada and Worldwide. At the same time both exhibitions are open for institutions and organisations from around the World. In the 2007/08 academic year education institutions from Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, The Netherlands, UAE, UK, USA, among others participated in the International Education Fairs in Russia.

Every year more and more Russian students pack their bags and go to study abroad. The most popular destination is Europe. Latest surveys indicate that every third Russian student who are going to study abroad selects United Kingdom, every sixth-seventh - France or Germany. Study in Finland, Sweden and Netherlands is more and more attractive for many young Russians. High quality of Swiss education in the filed of hospitality industry is well-known here.

Majority of Russian students prefer to take undergraduate programmes at local universities and continue their education abroad. That is why Master's and PhD degree programmes are in a great demand among both university students and young people who have already graduated from higher education institution, but think about a second degree to give more opportunities to achieve a successful professional career. Many European universities offer postgraduate courses in English. This language is taught widely in Russian secondary schools and higher education institutions. That is why English as a language of instruction for many postgraduate courses gives more opportunities for Russian students to study in different European countries.
