About the exhibition Book now

We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to participate in EDUTEX SOUTH AFRICA 2007, which will be held from 27 - 29 July 2007 at Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa.

South Africa has been an industrial country and the government puts great importance in good learning and higher education for its people. The new rebuilding of the higher education system in South Africa, especially the restructuring of the tertiary institutions, is beginning quite slowly and the number of South African students looking for study opportunities in other countries is very high.

EDUTEX SOUTH AFRICA 2007 is aimed at South African prospective school leavers, undergraduates, graduate students and those who are seeking to embark on further education abroad. Our main objective is to gather universities, colleges, and other education service providers from various countries in one venue to promote their institutions to the potential South African students.

Education system in South Africa

Three bands of education
South Africa's National Qualifications Framework (NQF) recognises three broad bands of education: General Education and Training, Further Education and Training, and Higher Education and Training.

School life spans 13 years or grades, from grade 0, otherwise known as grade R or "reception year", through to grade 12 or "matric" - the year of matriculation. General Education and Training runs from grade 0 to grade 9. Under the South African Schools Act of 1996, education is compulsory for all South Africans from age 7 (grade 1) to age 15, or the completion of grade 9. General Education and Training also includes Adult Basic Education and Training.
