We are pleased to invite you to take part in the educational fair 'The Days of British Education' 2008. This unique event will take place in Riga, Latvia on 4-5 October 2008 and Tallinn, Estonia on 6-7 October 2008 for the third time. It is the only educational fair in the Baltics which focuses on one country - the UK.
The demand for undergraduate studies in the UK has considerably increased since EU accession. Statistics from UCAS show the number of applicants from Latvia grew by 50.7% in the 2007 academic year in comparison to the 2006 academic year, from Estonia by 33.1% and from Lithuania by 29.3%.
At the same time Foundation programmes are also popular among those who understand that they need to adapt for academic life in the UK and to become integrated in British society. There is a need for specialist language programmes for serious business people and professionals, but this type of courses still requires extra promotion, as top managers do not always distinguish between specialist programmes and standard ones.
For students in the Baltic states education in Britain is associated with prestige and strong traditions. Every year people from the Baltics at all ages seek the best opportunities to study in the UK. Likewise UK institutions travel to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to recruit prospective students, to support their partners, to establish new contacts and to develop their brand names.
This education fair 'The Days of British Education' is a unique and cost-effective event to help you achieve those goals and to explore the beautiful Baltic countries.
