About The Education Fair

The President of Estonia is greeted at the start of the Estonia Education Fair.Estonia, with a population of 1.4 million, will host the 16th annual Education Fair in Tartu, the second largest city. At the event in 2006, the President of Estonia was among the visitors at this successful student fair.

Tartu, in the centre of Southern Estonia, is located 185 kilometres south of Tallinn and features The Emajµgi River, a feature of this great city, which connects the two largest lakes of Estonia.

Estonia lies along the Baltic Sea, just below Finland. Tallinn, Estonia's capital city is only about 40 miles south of Helsinki, across the Gulf of Finland. Sweden is Estonia's western neighbour across the Baltic. Russia is to the east, with St. Petersburg just across the north-eastern border. To the south is Latvia with its capital city Riga. You can depart from Tallinn's international airport and in less than two hours be in Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Riga, Moscow, St. Petersburg, or Vilnius.
