About the School

Study the British Curriculum (GCSE and A levels) and English language courses at Millfield School.

Millfield is one of the few independent schools to run it’s own summer school. The Millfield English Language Holiday Courses for students aged 7-16 years are well established and accredited by the British Council. They deliver high quality English Tuition in one of three great campuses in the rural south west of the United Kingdom together with a full programme of wonderful opportunities and events.

Students enjoy General English tuition in small classes (max 12 pupils) with qualified staff appropriate to the age group in the mornings and in the afternoons have the following options:

  • Keen sportsmen/women can choose to improve their sport in a Sport Academy with qualified instructors in Golf, Football, Riding, Tennis, Swimming, Tetrathlon, Hockey, Basketball, Badminton or Squash.
  • Non-Sporting Academies are available for Etiquette, Performing Arts or Fine Arts.
  • Younger pupils and non-specialists can choose the Sport and Recreation option.
  • The “Preparation for UK Schools” course offers academic or intensive English tuition, especially beneficial for students preparing to enter full time education in the U.K. or for students requiring further academic study.

Combinations can be chosen (per week) depending on Campus. A full and varied social programme and twice weekly excursions are included in all courses.

Millfield is a registered Trinity Examination Centre and all students have the option to take Trinity examinations. One further option available for 12-16 year old students, is to visit London for a weekend and experience the Capital city.

The Courses offer really worthwhile, vibrant and mind expanding experiences which are seen by the students as wonderfully exciting summer holidays in top English School environments.
